Coding is Intense
I’ve been working on coding for a new version of sttimmypro.com to be premiered after we switch hosts sometime this month. I think it’s going to be overall a better website than this is now… probably because I’m not all hand-coding it like I did this version…
It’s gonna be cool, though… Ima have oodles of bandwidth and exorbitant amounts of space. Unlimited domains, unlimited emails, A FULLY IMPLEMENTED BLOG, and ads. Oh ads, how I love thee. You aid me in my quest to pay for this godly hosting that I receive.
Also, along with this hosting, I get… AN INVESTOR! A co-admin. Everyone, meet Fizzzard, who is now an official member of the STP team. He’s helping me to pay for my new hosting, which is something I will love him forever for.
However, this does come with some sacrifices, such as that you now must all bow to his will. I’m sorry. I don’t make the rules. He is gonna be all modly on the boards (which I’m totally gonna start advertising again), and he’s gonna have full posting abilities here on the blog.
This is gonna be hella fun, actually.
2008 was a humongous year for STP (it was just a humongous year in general, really… I think it was humongous for everyone), and 2009 is going to be just as cool. 2008 proved to me that we can do what we want to as STP, and 2009 is the year that we’re going to start doing it. Hell yes.
And it all starts with this host change.
I think of this changing of hosts and site designs as symbolic of St Timmy Pro’s transition from our days of making crappy, campy films like the Hairy Pirates saga, to making interesting and deep productions like, ahem, this thing that starts with an l and ends in some other letters and a number. You know.
I always get so idealistic on this blog. Jeez. It’s terrible.
haha.
See ya at the new site, betches.

(click here/on the image to make it bigger/readable)
Today I was treated to the surprise of finding out that Firefox, Google Chrome, and Internet Explorer were all making superb efforts to block my site from being loaded. Chrome, however was the only one kind enough to actually tell me why.
The website at sttimmypro.com contains elements from the site chanchoi.cn, which appears to host malware — software that can hurt your computer or otherwise operate without your consent. Just visiting a site that contains malware can infect your computer.
Weird, huh?
I viewed the source of the page and didn’t see anything weird with it with a very small glance. I kinda wish I had looked closer, because then maybe I’d be able to confirm my suspicions.
However, what I believe happened, based upon the appearance of things, was that this site was hacked in some way or another, and the iframe this blog goes into on the index was set to go to that other website instead — the chanchoi.cn, or whatever. So when the browser went to load the iframe it was like, “whoa, man, no, that site’s blocked!” so it blocked the rest of my site too.
Simple.
So I just reuploaded the index file and the site works again. Yay.
Then, I went to change my password on the host site, in case I was right, so this wouldn’t happen again. Now, because I signed up for this host back in.. whenever it was.. it’s on one of the older servers that uses the old cPanel, rather than their own, custom one. potormovie.com, worldofwally.com, etc. all use the new control panel, so I can say on pretty good authority: theirs is better.
Anyway, because I’m on this old cPanel, I’m not able to change my password. Terrible, isn’t it? It is. It really is (so if this site is down again tomorrow, blame them).
Oh, and then I found out I’d gotten some malware on my computer, and I had to go through the numerous pains and tribulations of removing that.
But, really, how many people can say they got malware from their own website? Huh? Yeah. I can.
Also, my back hurts like freaking heck. I think I dislocated my spine or something. Jeez.
I think I’m gonna start signing things differently. I mean, change never hurt anyone, right?
Except, you know, Native Americans. And Polar Bears. And Heroes.
Best,
Timmy
Oh and…
THE DINOSAURS WERE WIPED OUT BY MICROWAVE OVENS! DON’T BELIEVE ANYTHING ELSE YOU HEAR ABOUT THAT CATASTROPHE!!!
That is all.

I, hereinafter referred to as Timmy, hereby vow to accomplish the following listed tasks without any backtracking and/or regrets for vowing to accomplish them. Furthermore, I vow to attempt to my fullest ability to accomplish the listed tasks sometime during the up and coming summer, while others are off enjoying their time in other ways.
- Make The Original Stiff a real reality. I’m serious. I’m finally in a freaking band, and I am not going to let that explode like it normally does. Honestly, and I mean no offense at all to my dear sadist, even if Moses doesn’t want to do it, I’ll get others. I swear, the Original Stiff is going to be awesome and magnificent and is, in fact, going to happen.
- Speaking of Moses, I vow to get him the present I need to get him for his birthday. Srsly.
- The prize. Starts with an ‘l’ and ends in a ’5.’ I was gonna say the entire acronym, but if you Google it, it’s actually the very first result. Heh. Anyway, Sticky and I will do this. I’m serious.
- Meanwhile, we’re gonna start filming on POTOR, whether you like it or not.
- I’m going to remain thoroughly and completely feeling bad for crushing Chris’ dreams of creating one of the greatest films ever, The Puppet Demention. Everything exploded at once. It sucked… sorry, Chris.
- I’m going to finish up The Legend of the Purple kNights as well as the revision of Jamez Blak and the Monks of Tunisia (*cough* on the linkage).
- I’m also gonna finish up the typing and completing of the first Brotherhood book and then work on getting it published. Yeah, that’s right, I said published. I’m getting tired of, when people suggest I get it published just saying, “heh, yeah,” like I’ve never considered it. Of course I’ve considered it. I’ve written almost five-hundred pages when it comes to the Brotherhood (if I’m doing my math right). It’s not just going to sit there and wait for an archaeologist. Even if I have to publish it myself through, like, LuLu or something, it’s getting published.
- I’m gonna get over the whole Keira thing. I’m a failure. I get it. I have to move on, self, seriously. You suck.
- Finish my post-apocalyptic script. That thing, while being sorta cliche in parts, would make an amazing film, I have to admit.
- I will have a life. No really, I will.
- I will, while maintaining said life, update this blog regularly and update you, fair reader(s) of my daily goings ons. Or, y’know, weekly. Or, y’know, no goings ons at all. I may just do reviews and Words & Phrases. My intention is to make this site a rather enjoyable place to be. I may add a forum. I may not, though. That might be too presumptuous (in thinking people’d join, that is).
- I’m gonna shoot several things on the HVX, even before we do POTOR (or l—-5).
- Read some good books.
Although that is all that Timmy can think of at the moment, he hereinafter vows to accomplish all further tasks he sets for himself to accomplish in the coming future.
I’m serious.

I don’t like writing technical blog posts, like, about updates and stuff. But that’s what this is. This is a post that’s only aim is to bring your attention to something that seems small but is not in fact a rather large updates. More than one thing, actually. There are two things. Amazing. 2>1. Two is greater than one. Of course. Crazy.
Alright, so the first thing that I changed was the buttons… again. Instead of being all colorful and picture-y they were all white with black text. I changed it because Quinn, when I originally opened up the site, said he didn’t like them as they were and that I should change them.
So then I was trying to find a way to make the page load faster (the loading time is, in large, made substantially longer by having to load this blog, in case you were wondering). I realized that I could just make the menu one image and use an image map for the links. An image map, for those who don’t know, is a way to give your browser coordinates for a rectangle (or other shape). So, after doing that you make it so clicking inside of the coordinates directs you to a page. Amazing.
But then Internet Explorer didn’t like the image map. Weelll, actually, it wasn’t the image map IE didn’t like, it was my CSS stuff. I had it set up so that there was a little box there on the left, where the menu goes. The background of that box was the actual menu, and a clear 1×1 image stretched to fit the box was the image with the image map applied to it. It was that that IE didn’t like, I’m pretty sure. I don’t know why, either.
And then I added that helpful little note at the top of the page that said (I’m paraphrasing), “This page doesn’t work in Internet Explorer. Go get Firefox.” It worked. It explained what was wrong with the page and what you, personally, could do to fix it. Amazing.
But then Mr. Johnson told me they didn’t look good. Well, he said they didn’t look bad, but they looked worse than the picture-y ones. He suggested that they have a black background and white text. So I tried that. It didn’t, actually, look very good. I mean, it didn’t look bad, but it didn’t look better. So I added that little white border around it.
And then I had to slice it up into five different parts for each button, a separate link for each one. It worked. Surprisingly enough, it also worked in Internet Explorer. I mean, the page is still all crapped up and crappy, but the buttons still worked. So that’s done and awesome and stuff. Let me know what you think of them. No seriously. Do it now.
The second update you can find here. I realized that if the whole image map on a clear, stretched image thing didn’t work on the main page, it wouldn’t work on the films page either. So I changed it and made them individual images instead. Crazy. I also added Allons-y and The Puppet Demention to the page. Look forward to both, coming soon.
That’s it, honestly. For now, at least. The next post very well may be my review of the Dark Knight, so, uh, yeah. It may not be, though, come to think of it. I may have some odd inspiration to write something else. I also may not even do a review of the Dark Knight. I’m not sure. That movie looks pretty frickin’ amazing, though. I’m serious, I am looking very much forward to it.
But then, I’m a Batman geek.
